Let's review your new organization rollout from the previous blog. OK. You’ve prepared your introductory materials including your new Org Chart and Reorganization Notice. Now, you need some guidelines for your Announcement Presentation.
Guidelines for Announcing your new Organizational Strategy.
Tell them:
We (management) have been working on a new organizational strategy because the company - and its employees - cannot make further progress without this important step.You may want to cover other points, such as:
We have studied proven, scientific principles of organization. (You're telling them this is not an experiment.)(*Note: If you have any new compensation plan(s), you may need to make a separate presentation.)
We all work within a structure that must have a life and identity of its own. Meanwhile, we expect our co-operation to produce individual rewards and satisfactions. Thus, we satisfy our personal interests by satisfying our company's interests, and conversely.
We understand that this reorganization satisfies some people while frustrating others. Our reorganization is not a judgment of your value. We are neither punishing nor demoting anyone. We have not reduced anyone's income.
According to scientific organizational principles, a manager can effectively manage a limited number of people. So, we changed some manager's subordinates to a proper level. We made some tough decisions.
You might think we gave someone a position that you should have been given. In fact, you might be right! Anyone can make an incorrect decision. But, starting today all compensation will be based on performance. Do your best and you will be rewarded.
We have given you an Organization Chart (for your department) and your personal Reorganization Notice. These documents should answer most of your questions. If you have further questions or want a private discussion, please meet with your new manager at a mutually convenient time.
Thank you for your attention and cooperation as we enter the most exciting phase of our company's life to date.
