Let's review your organizational change from the previous blog.
Since most people feel threatened by organizational change, you must conduct private, confidential meetings with all affected personnel to obtain signed Contractual Agreements ("CA") before your announcement.
At this time, you emphasize why the BIG IDEA is worth working for and explain your expanded career paths and future rewards.
Now you’re ready to answer this question...
How can you rollout your organizational change with confidence?
Prepare Your Introductory Materials. Once you have signed CAs, prepare your introductory materials, which should include your new Org Chart and Reorganization Notice, as follows:
Org Chart. You have some options here. You can:
1, Prepare your Org Chart on one sheet of paper, or,Reorganization Notice. Prepare your Reorganization Notice to tell employees how the change will affect them organizationally. It should say something like,
2. Create separate sheets that show two levels (manager and subordinates, or,
3. Use both approaches to list non-management positions.
"Effective (date) your new position will be (Position Title). You will be reporting to the position of (Position Title) occupied by (name)."If that position is a managerial position, add a statement like,
"Your subordinate positions will be (1., 2., ...) occupied by (names)."Sign and date your Notice.
After you have prepared these materials, you are ready for your Announcement Date Presentation.
You simply MUST do this in person!
Make your Announcement and Reorganization Presentation in person AND in writing. This will give everyone personal contact plus necessary documentation.
In your announcement presentation, emphasize that your firm's reorganization is scheduled for a specific Changeover Date. Make sure you leave enough time between the Announcement Date and the Changeover Date so everyone can be prepared.
But, don’t allow piecemeal fulfillment and delays to produce confusion, conflicting accountabilities, and the perception that you don't know what you're doing. Make sure your reorganization is complete on the official Changeover Date!
