Questions & Answers

Q: What’s most surprising about your company’s culture?

Agreements, procedures, and a code of ethics that allows integrity to prevail. Without integrity nothing really works at best, progress slows and mediocrity results.

Q: Why do you work?

Success is not the key to happiness. Serving others who are serving others is the key to success and happiness.

Q: How would you describe your office space?

Private. Bright and orderly with many books and operations manuals. Latin jazz and flamenco guitar in the background. Frig, microwave, nutritional products.

Q: What’s your career ambition?

Write more business books for the consumer market. Deliver inspiring workshops. Finish new book, "Out of Flatland." A spiritual journey based on my 3+year travel/study sabbatical around the US.

Q: What’s your dream job?

The job I've had the last 30 years.

Q: What’s your dream job location?

Wherever I am working.

Q: What was your first real job?

Sacking coal at age 12 to buy my first guitar.

Q: Who have you most admired in your career?

Trained by Werner Erhard, Paul Larson, Michael Gerber, Harry Palmer, Sean D'Souza, John Eggan & other business gurus.

Q: How would your coworkers describe you?

Sense of humor, punctual, super organized, competent, quiet.

Q: What’s your lunchtime ritual?

Running or health club, or lunch with clients (if on site).

Q: What three things at work do you find most satisfying?

1. Working with people who keep their word.
2. Delivering results on time
3. Training others / brainstorming.

Q: What’s the most rewarding thing about your job?

Serving others who are serving others.

Q: What book are you currently reading?

Java Programming.

Q: What’s playing on your playlist?

Latin jazz, flamenco guitar, MJQ (thank you Pandora!).

Q: What do you do to blow off steam?

Can we talk here? Obscenities in private; stuff it in public.

Q: What’s your morning commute like?

I don't waste time commuting. If necessary, I will stay in a nearby hotel. Ready to travel.
